> what is this site

Welcome to my exocortex. When logged in, this side of the page is a Claude terminal session.

This is a dummy terminal showing how I interact with my files. The real one runs ttyd over tmux, served from my virtual private server. Claude Code lives inside a persistent tmux session, so I can let Claude run in the cloud and edit my exocortex directly.

I've wired up my Claude subscription to flat markdown and JSON files across all the things you can see on the right side of the page: journal, habits, food, money, kitchen, contacts. This means I can have Claude edit everything inside by using natural language.

What lives on the right, and what I use each page for:

journal — a conversational journal that picks up my context: I talk to it, it remembers where I'm at, reads back each morning, and lets me query everything in plain language
habits — the small daily things I'm building: morning and evening routines, meds, movement
food — my meals and the foods I reach for, so meal planning and grocery shopping get easier
money — budget, expenses, and subscriptions; hooked up to my grocery receipt scanner and parses my bank CSVs
kitchen — grocery lists, pantry, and what to restock before I run out
contacts — the people I care about, and nudges to stay in touch

This is what I see as the future of AI. Not dissimilar to riding a car, but rather, a digital prosthesis that reduces the cognitive load of living in the modern environment.
